26 August 2010 - The Beckford Arms suffered a major fire on the 16th July 2010. Fortunately, all of our guests were safely evacuated and no one was injured. We are now pleased to report that the reconstruction process has begun with partial demolition of the site. We anticipate that we will be re-open by spring/ summer of 2011. For updates please keep checking this website or you can follow the rebuild on Twitter at http://twitter.com/beckfordarms Read more ›
Kitchen
Our menus change with the season and depend on availability of the freshest produce.
Whole suckling pig spit-roasting on the bar’s open fire, our own hams and piccalilli, game pies with homemade pastry and aged Wiltshire steaks.
A pork pie and a pint at the bar with our house chutney. Day-boat landed fish, locally grown salads, our own home-smoked wild salmon or locally caught trout.
A rich chocolate terrine, a rhubarb crumble with custard or a tart lemon posset for pudding.
Traditional afternoon tea served on the terrace in summer or in the sitting room on comfy sofas by an open fire.
Home made jams for breakfast and a brunch menu on Saturday including Eggs Benedict and an Omelette Arnold Bennett.
We naturally use local ingredients supporting local growers and ensuring the best produce, some of which is grown in our own kitchen garden.
