The pub has an oak stool lined bar stocked with local ales, a restaurant serving unpretentious, seasonal food, a sun-filled terrace with a wood-fired pizza oven for the summer months, a sitting room with roaring fires and deep antique chairs, eight characterful bedrooms and two luxurious lodges just a short stroll away from the pub.

World-class wines, traditional local ales, including our very own Beckford Phoenix, and classic cocktails can be enjoyed at The Beckford. Our beers are supplied by local breweries, gin from local distilleries and wine from our very own merchant, The Beckford Bottle Shop. The Bottle Shop, in the city of Bath, has a list of over two hundred delicious wines from around the world and a curated selection of craft beer, cider and spirits.

Our relaxed pub is the perfect environment for long lunches, sumptuous suppers and the chance to refuel after a day exploring the British countryside. In the summer months, the restaurant extends onto the sun-filled terrace and marquee for alfresco dining. Chef Adam Bristow and his talented team are committed to cooking the abundance of seasonal produce surrounding The Beckford. Meat and game from local farms, fish from the Cornwall coast and fresh leaves picked just a few steps away in The Beckford kitchen garden. A fifteen minute stroll away from The Beckford, these two luxurious lodges are named after the original Pavilions built by William Beckford as guest accommodation for Fonthill Splendens – regular guests then included Byron, Nelson and Turner, so you will be in good company. Guests arrive to a well stocked fridge with local produce enabling you to “cook your own breakfast”. The bedroom and roll top bath are on a mezzanine level gazing out over some of the most beautiful views in Wiltshire. There is also a walk-in shower. Downstairs there is a sitting room with a simple kitchen, wood-burning stove with plenty of logs to keep you warm and all mod cons, in a country chic style.

Private Dining
The Beckford Arms is the perfect rural escape for get-togethers, long lunches, meetings and celebrations. The Library, a cosy room filled with handpicked antiques, can seat up to 12 diners for intimate celebrations.
The Sitting Room, the largest room at The Beckford, seats up to 24 diners and is available from Monday - Thursday. You and your guests work closely with us to curate menus to suit your occasion, think succulent, locally reared ribs of beef, family-style fish pie and inventive plant-based dishes

I could happily live in the small but perfectly formed Arch forever. The tiny house has been beautifully realised and makes a quirky and romantic place to stay in a quirky and romantic corner of Wiltshire - for just a night, a weekend or longer.

For Harry, hospitality is a way of life. Growing up in Spain, he learnt the importance of breaking bread with loved ones. Starting in the industry at 14, and previously running two of his very own restaurants, he is now the cool, calm, collected head that nurtures the Beckford Familia.
A total joy to be around, and a true countryman, Jack is the perfect person to look after your time with us. From answering the phone to saying goodbye, he will ensure you leave with the best memories possible. After work, you'll find him in the bar, pint in hand, alongside the other locals and his dog Wesley.
Stalwart of the Beckford Arms, Tracy is our beloved Head Housekeeper. Having been part of the team for seven years, her attention to detail is unrivalled. In her spare time, you'll find Tracy baring all for the worthy cause of pancreatic cancer, and knitting lovely knick-knacks.
Always chatting away to guests and keeping the tipples topped up - Rob is our friendly barman that everyone loves to see. A proper local, he can often be found enjoying a well-deserved pint at our sister pub, The Bath Arms Inn. When he’s not behind the bar, he’s busy building his own home - brick by brick, pint by pint.
A friendly face with a heart of gold, Molly is our lovely Floor Manager. When she's not flower arranging, making the perfect coffee, or doing her best for our wonderful guests, you'll find her photographing the Beckford Arms as our creative Social Media Champion.
With a passion for local ingredients and a respect for the classics, our Head JP keeps our menu fresh and full of beloved dishes. Previously, JP has earned rosettes in pastry and now leads a talented team in the Beckford kitchen, all while nurturing the next generation of chefs. When he's not in the kitchen, he loves spending time with his family in the Wiltshire countryside.
Calum is our trusty Assistant General Manager, keeping the team on top form and our taps nice and local - he’s always happy to chat all things beer and whisky and never one to turn down a good pint himself. When he’s not leading from the front, you’ll find him walking his two dogs through the local countryside or playing a spot of cricket.
A country girl at heart, Ellie spent seven years working with dressage horses before deciding it was time for a new challenge. Inspired by her brother’s hospitality tales, she swapped stables for service and now loves nothing more than seeing guests have a good time. When she’s not at the pub, you'll find her walking her Spaniel, Lulu, followed by a chocolate pudding and a well-earned G&T.

All prices include a lovely breakfast. Please note we have a minimum stay of two nights on weekends but do check with us as sometimes there may be odd single nights available.Some guests prefer a supper inclusive rate and so this is available, including a three course supper from our daily menu of up to £60 per couple, not including drinks.
